PPP Nodal Officers Round Table 2007

Date: September 22 & 23, 2007
Venue: Park Hyatt Resort, Goa

Government of India envisages significant role for Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) in its endeavor to ensure adequate and efficient provision of various infrastructure services. As part of a wide-ranging effort to build capacities at appropriate levels of government to better conceptualize, structure and implement PPP projects, several Central Government Ministries and State Governments have put in place dedicated Cells. Going forward, these PPP Cells are expected to play a pivotal role in catalyzing the flow of PPP projects in their respective sectors and states.

In order to facilitate interaction among the Nodal Officers of the PPP Cells, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, is organizing a Round Table in collaboration with the World Bank, on September 22nd and 23rd in Goa.

The focus of this year’s event would be to get a better understanding of the immediate capacity-building challenges being faced by the PPP Cells and the support they would require over the next 2-3 years. The output of the Round Table will be used to develop concrete proposals for capacity building and technical assistance to PPP Cells, which would be supported by the Government of India and other agencies like the World Bank and Asian Development Bank.

Note: Participation in this event is only by invitation.
